Dounia Daoud, PhD 

Executive Director 

With almost 20 years of experience working with the fishing industry in Atlantic Canada, Dounia has led numerous Research & Development (R&D) initiatives focused on healthy ecosystems and sustainable fisheries, working closely with researchers, industry, government, private sectors, and Indigenous groups. As a strong advocate for fishermen’s science initiatives, she emphasizes their role as key stakeholders in the marine ecosystem.

Devan Archibald, Msc 

Science Director

Devan oversees research strategies that align with the Canadian lobster industry’s science priorities. With over 20 years of experience in fish and wildlife science across academic, non-profit, and private sectors, he brings extensive knowledge of Canadian fisheries, seafood sectors, and policy. His work ensures the industry has the information needed to support sustainable and profitable fisheries in the face of rapid climate and ecosystem changes.
